Diathermy

SKIN TREATMENT - RINGWOOD

About

Diathermy electrolysis is a non-surgical procedure that uses a controlled electrical current to address minor skin blemishes and concerns. The electric current generates heat to gently break down the unwanted tissue without cutting the skin. Having been refined for more than a century, today’s modern diathermy treatments offer precision and versatility in safely targeting various skin lesions.

Staying gentle and effective across all skin types and tones, this treatment option offers clients a clinically proven way to refine minor imperfections and support long-term skin clarity.

DIATHERMY TREATMENT

Before

YOUR TREATMENT

Here are a few tips to best prepare your skin for your upcoming treatment.

Clean Skin

Gently cleanse the treatment zone to be product-free before your appointment.

Hold Off

Avoid other cosmetic treatments to the same area for a week prior to limit skin stress.

Pause Actives

Avoid retinoids or strong exfoliating acids at least 3 days prior to keep the skin calm.

Hands Off

Leave any scabs or crusting to fall off naturally; picking can cause infection or scarring.

Avoid

Makeup or any harsh products that could clog or irritate the skin while it’s still healing.

Sun Protection

Healing skin can be more sensitive to UV light, use a broad spectrum SPF every day.

After

Still Have Questions?

Are diathermy skin treatments painful?

Most clients describe the heat or stinging sensation as a mild discomfort at most, as the current is applied to the lesion. Additionally, the majority of treatment areas are very small, so the sensation is brief.

For the vast majority of skin concerns, a single session is all that’s needed. The exact number of sessions will however be determined by the size/quantity of what’s being treated, but will be fully communicated with you during your personalised consultation.

How many diathermy treatments will I need?

For the types of concerns commonly treated, visible results are immediate, with a small dot or scab that fades over the next few weeks as the skin goes through its normal healing cycle.

How soon will I see results with diathermy?

Yes. diathermy is considered a permanent solution for clearing or removing the targeted blemishes with a very high success rate. However it doesn’t guarantee that you won’t develop new blemishes if your skin is prone to certain conditions.

Are diathermy results permanent?

Yes, diathermy is a ‘colour-blind’ treatment that doesn’t rely on pigment, so there’s no increased risk of burning or darkening due to skin colour. Even sensitive skin types or areas are safe, you just might need some extra post-treatment TLC.

Is diathermy safe for all skin tones?
