What is it?
Keratosis Pilaris (KP), also called ‘chicken skin’, although medically harmless... can be seriously annoying.
Showing up as tiny, rough bumps on the upper arms, thighs, or butt, that feel like sandpaper and can look red, white, or skin-toned. It’s mild in most cases, but for others, it’s a never ending skin texture battle.
The science of it is when keratin, a protein that protects your skin, builds up and blocks your hair follicles. Similar to the clogged pores of blackheads, except you get bumps. It’s not acne, not a rash, not contagious, and no, it’s not because you're not exfoliating enough. It’s just your skin doing what it does - genetically. Although there’s no ‘cure’ for KP, we can dramatically smooth and soften your skin with personalised care.
Still Have Questions?
Does KP go away on its own?
Often, yes. Many people see improvement with age, and it frequently fades by 30. But if it’s bothering you now—we can help smooth things out fast.
Exfoliating can help, but ‘scrubbing’? Not only will it not help, it can actually make the redness and irritation worse. So stick to gentle exfoliation such as chemical peels containing Trichloroacetic acid (TCA), Mandelic acid, AHA’s like glycolic acid or lactic acid, or BHA’s like Salicylic acid - such as the Cosmo or Crystal Peel.
Does exfoliating help with KP?
Things like cold, dry weather is a big one. So are long hot showers, harsh soaps, and skipping moisturiser. KP loves dry skin.
What makes KP even worse?
You can use tinted body products or gentle concealers, but smooth skin underneath always looks better. We focus on improving texture so you don’t feel like you need to constantly cover it up.
Can makeup cover it?
Yes. KP might be medically harmless, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth treating. If it affects your confidence, comfort, or clothing choices then it matters. Your skin should feel like yours again.

Moisturise Daily
Apply moisturiser immediately after washing, reapplying 2-3 times per day, or when it becomes dry.

Exfoliate
Under a warm shower (not hot), use gentle physical exfoliation with a loofah or washcloth to remove dead skin cells.
