What is it?
Dry skin might look like a cosmetic issue, but it’s actually a disruption to the skin's moisture barrier. At some point, you’ve probably experienced it tight or rough to the touch, it can look flaky, or felt a mild to intense itchiness. When it gets really bad, painful deep cracks can form, looking like dry riverbeds and even start bleeding.
There’s a range of factors that can lead to dry skin with varying severity. Sometimes it can be a seasonal issue that flares in the winter or low-humidity; As we age, our skin is more prone to dryness; Lifestyle factors like frequent swimming, showering, and sanitising strips our skin’s moisture barrier of natural oils.
You’ve probably tried different moisturisers, which can help in the short term, but persistent dryness often needs professional intervention to tackle the deeper causes of your skin’s moisture loss.
Still Have Questions?
Is dry skin the same as dehydrated skin?
Not entirely. Dry skin is actually a skin type (as opposed to oily skin), but most refer to dehydrated skin when they say it’s ‘dry’. Dehydration becomes a condition when your skin’s ability to retain moisture, or it’s moisture barrier is compromised. We’ll go over the best solution for you during the consultation, based on your personal circumstances.
Not when done correctly. Targeted treatments based on personal circumstances - like chemical peels - help remove dead skin that can reduce your hydration efforts. When combined with targeted serums, exfoliation becomes an important step in the process.
Will exfoliating make my dryness worse?
You might be applying it on top of a buildup of dead cells, or using a formula too weak for your skin. In-clinic treatments can be better tailored to your individual situation, allowing your skincare products to work properly.
“But, I can just use moisturiser at home?”
It’s common, but not exactly normal. Maintaining a healthy, glowing appearance doesn’t require much effort, but it definitely needs a plan. With a consultation, we will go through the best treatment options and skin routine advice that meets your skin’s needs.
“Dry skin is just a normal thing for skin”
Price can be a good indicator, but compatibility is the real answer. Your skin might need active hydration plus barrier repair. We can assess what’s missing and design a plan to restore balance.

Advice
We don't just provide you with world class skincare treatments, but show you how to maintain your amazing results at home.

Exfoliate
Add gentle chemical exfoliation in your routine once a week to clear the skin’s surface, instead of harsh physical scrubs.

Moisturise
Apply a moisturising cream (instead of a lotion) within a few minutes after showering to maximise moisture retention.

Gentle Cleansing
When cleansing your face, use a mild, soapless cleanser designed for dry skin, as harsh soaps or detergents can strip natural oils.
