Stretch Marks

What is it?

Stretch marks are your skin’s natural reaction to rapid change—an invisible tug-of-war between collagen and elasticity. You’ll see them as soft, indented streaks that can appear pink, red, purple, or even silvery white as they mature. They’re not a sign of poor health, and they don’t hurt. But they can leave their mark—physically and emotionally.
Whether it’s pregnancy, a growth spurt, a change in weight, or intense muscle gain, your skin’s underlying support structure can struggle to keep up, causing tiny tears beneath the surface. These tears heal, but the scar they leave behind is what you see as stretch marks.
But just because they’re natural doesn’t mean you have to accept them. With the right treatments, you can minimize their appearance and even out your skin’s texture.

Still Have Questions?

What causes stretch marks?

Stretch marks are a form of scarring that appears when the skin stretches too quickly, causing the collagen and elastin to rupture. As the skin heals, stretch marks form in areas where elastin breaks.

While stretch marks can’t be fully prevented, their appearance may be reduced by supporting skin elasticity with products like daily hydration or retinoids. At PNP, our collagen-stimulating rejuvenation treatments offer proactive support.

Can stretch marks be prevented?

As stetch marks fade over time from red or purple to lighter shades, they do become less pronounced as the skin heals. Although they do often fade over time, they rarely disappear completely without treatment.

Will stretch marks go away on their own?

Not right away. Most treatments require time for your skin’s natural healing process to kick in. For laser therapy and microneedling, you’ll start seeing improvements in texture and color over several weeks, with full results appearing over a few months.

Will I see results immediately?

Our laser scar removal and stretch mark removal treatments are non-invasive and designed for minimal discomfort. Most clients feel a gentle warmth during the session, followed by a mild sunburn-like sensation. You may experience some natural shedding. But as the skin repairs stretch marks will become visibly lighter and skin more refined in texture.

Are stretch marks painful to treat?

Advice

We don't just provide you with world class skincare treatments, but show you how to maintain your amazing results at home.

Hydration

Consistency inside and out is your best defense. Drink plenty of water, and use a rich, nourishing body cream - especially after showering, when your skin is most receptive.

Support Collagen

Consider products with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, retinol (if you’re not pregnant), and peptides, which encourage your skin’s natural repair processes.

Sun Protection

Stretch marks are more visible on sun-damaged skin. Use SPF daily, especially on exposed areas.
